Yul found the idol on Exile Island on Day 5 by solving the clues leading to a broken compass, which was revealed as the Hidden Immunity Idol. This was a 'God Idol' or 'Super Idol' - it could be played AFTER the votes were read, making it the most powerful idol format in Survivor history. Yul never played the idol at Tribal Council but used it as an extraordinarily effective strategic weapon. He revealed it to Jonathan Penner at the merge to convince him to flip from the Rarotonga majority to the Aitu Four alliance, a move that changed the entire course of the game. He also publicly revealed the idol at the Survivor Auction. Yul took the idol all the way to the Final Tribal Council and won the game 5-4-0 over Ozzy Lusth.
