๐ Advantages & Idols
Season 15: China
Todd Herzog (Day 16, Ep 6)
Todd deduced the idol's location from clues distributed through the kidnapping twist. The idols were hidden in plain sight as wooden plaques on the pagoda gate outside each tribe's camp. Todd found the Fei Long idol with Amanda Kimmel's help on Day 16. Rather than keeping it for himself, Todd immediately gave the idol to James Clement as part of a strategic plan - James would use it at Zhan Hu's Tribal Council to blindside a Zhan Hu member, then retrieve the second idol from Zhan Hu's gate. Todd never personally played an idol this season but won the game with a 4-2-1 jury vote.
James Clement (Day 17, Ep 6)
James received the Fei Long idol from Todd on Day 17 as part of Todd's strategic plan. Todd instructed James to use the idol at Zhan Hu's next Tribal Council and then grab the second idol from Zhan Hu's pagoda gate. James held this idol but never played it at any Tribal Council. He was blindsided and voted out on Day 30 (Episode 10) in a 5-1-1 vote while still holding both idols, creating one of the most iconic moments in Survivor history.
James Clement (Day 18, Ep 7)
After receiving the Fei Long idol and the clue from Todd about the idol locations, James realized the same hiding spot (a wooden plaque on the pagoda gate) applied at the Zhan Hu camp. He pulled the plaque down from Zhan Hu's gate, making him the first player in Survivor history to possess two Hidden Immunity Idols simultaneously. Despite holding both idols heading into the merge, James never played either one. He was blindsided at the Episode 10 Tribal Council on Day 30, voted out 5-1-1 holding both idols - widely considered one of the biggest blunders in Survivor history.
