Season 34: Game Changers
Sierra Dawn Thomas (Day 1, Ep 1)
Day 36, Episode 13
For: Sarah Lacina
3 votes negated
Sierra found the Legacy Advantage hidden on the boat during the marooning on Day 1. It granted immunity at either the final 13 or final 6. Sierra held it until she was voted out on Day 32 (Episode 11), when she willed it to Sarah Lacina. Sarah played it at the infamous final 6 tribal council on Day 36, negating 3 votes against her and contributing to Cirie's default elimination.
J.T. Thomas (Day 5, Ep 2)
J.T. found a Hidden Immunity Idol at the Nuku camp early in the game. However, in one of the biggest blunders in Survivor history, he left the idol back at camp and did not bring it to Tribal Council on Day 13 (Episode 5). Sandra correctly surmised J.T.'s betrayal at the joint tribal council and led the charge to blindside him 5-1. He was voted out holding the idol at camp.
Troyzan Robertson (Day 7, Ep 3)
Day 36, Episode 13
For: Troyzan Robertson
0 votes negated
After the first tribe swap to Tavua on Day 7, Troyzan found a clue and subsequently located the idol during an immunity challenge while no one was looking. He held the idol for nearly the entire game, finally playing it at the final 6 tribal council on Day 36 (Night 36). He played it on himself but received no votes. Combined with Sarah's Legacy Advantage and Tai's two idols, this left Cirie as the only unprotected player.
Tai Trang (Day 9, Ep 4)
Day 11, Episode 5
For: Sierra Dawn Thomas
0 votes negated
Tai found his first idol hidden at a challenge venue. At the joint tribal council on Day 11 (Episode 5), Tai gave this idol to Sierra Dawn Thomas in a strategic move to protect the Mana alliance. Sierra received no votes, but the play forced the opposing alliance's votes onto Malcolm Freberg, who was blindsided 5-1. While the idol negated 0 votes against Sierra directly, it was a pivotal strategic move that eliminated Malcolm.
Tai Trang (Day 18, Ep 7)
Day 36, Episode 13
For: Tai Trang
0 votes negated
Tai found his second idol at the Mana camp after the second tribe swap. He held this idol until the final 6 tribal council on Day 36, where he played it on himself. He received no votes. This idol was one of four advantages played at the historic final 6 tribal, contributing to Cirie's default elimination.
Tai Trang (Day 30, Ep 10)
Day 36, Episode 13
For: Aubry Bracco
0 votes negated
Tai found his third idol post-merge, making him the first player ever to find three idols in a single season. At the final 6 tribal council on Day 36, Brad Culpepper convinced Tai to play this idol on Aubry Bracco. She received no votes. This was the third of Tai's idols played at the same tribal council (one on himself, one on Aubry), and part of the four-advantage avalanche that eliminated Cirie by default.
Debbie Wanner (Day 14, Ep 6)
Day 24, Episode 8
For: Debbie Wanner
0 votes negated
After the second tribe swap on Day 14, Debbie was sent to Exile Island on a yacht, where Survivor: Caramoan winner John Cochran offered her an Advantage Menu with three choices: a fake idol kit, an Extra Vote, or a challenge advantage. Debbie chose the Extra Vote. She used it on Day 24 (Episode 8) to cast two votes against Ozzy Lusth, helping ensure his elimination. While Ozzy may have gone home regardless, the extra vote provided insurance for the majority.
Sarah Lacina (Day 25, Ep 9)
Day 35, Episode 12
For: Sarah Lacina
0 votes negated
A 'secret advantage' scroll was placed by the sit-out bench at the Day 25 Reward Challenge. While Michaela Bradshaw sat out and failed to notice it, Sarah Lacina spotted and secretly claimed it. The advantage allowed her to steal another player's vote. Sarah used it on Day 35 (Episode 12) to steal Tai's vote, then orchestrated a 4-2-1 blindside of Michaela Bradshaw. This was a masterful play that demonstrated Sarah's strategic dominance.
