Season 38: Edge of Extinction
Ron Clark (Day 1, Ep 1)
Ron found a secret advantage envelope under vegetables during the marooning on Day 1. The Advantage Menu offered three choices: Reward Steal, Extra Vote, or individual immunity functioning as a Hidden Immunity Idol. The menu expired after the third tribal council (Day 9). Ron never selected an advantage because his Kama tribe won all immunity challenges before the expiration. On Day 31, Ron gave the expired envelope to Rick Devens as a relationship-repair gesture, but Rick discovered it had long expired when he tried to play it.
Lauren O'Connell (Day 6, Ep 2)

Lauren found the Manu tribe's Hidden Immunity Idol on Day 6 after the tribe's second immunity challenge loss. Kelley Wentworth led an open idol hunt to prevent Wendy from finding it, but Lauren secretly found it and kept it hidden. She held onto it for 30 days โ one of the longest holds in Survivor history. At the Episode 13 tribal council on Day 36, Chris Underwood convinced Lauren to play the idol on him as a 'big move' for jury credit. The idol negated 1 vote against Chris, and Victoria was blindsided. Lauren was voted out at the next tribal council without idol protection.
Rick Devens (Day 13, Ep 4)
Rick Devens discovered an Extra Vote hidden on the Edge of Extinction and gave it to Aubry Bracco after Manu lost an immunity challenge on Day 13. The advantage was good until the final seven. However, Aubry was blindsided that very same night without ever using the advantage. The Extra Vote left the game with her.

Aubry found a second Extra Vote on the Edge of Extinction after being voted out and gifted it to Aurora McCreary. Aurora engaged in strategic transfers: she gave it to Ron Clark on Day 27 to secure his loyalty, reclaimed it the next day, then gave it to Gavin Whitson on Day 31 as part of a split vote plan. Gavin used the Extra Vote in Episode 11 ('Awkward') to cast two votes for Ron. Combined with Rick's idol play (which protected Rick), Ron was voted out 3-1 in a successful execution of the plan.

Rick received a Hidden Immunity Idol upon returning from the Edge of Extinction on Day 17, given as a two-half idol where he had to give one half to another player. He gave a half to David Wright. After David was voted out, Rick recombined the idol. He played it on himself at the Episode 11 ('Awkward') tribal council, negating 4 votes from Aurora, Julie, Ron, and Victoria. Ron was voted out instead in a 3-1 vote.

Rick found his second idol at camp. He played it on himself at the Episode 13 ('I See the Million Dollars') tribal council, negating 3 votes from Gavin, Julie, and Lauren. Aurora was voted out 2-0 after the idol negation.
Rick Devens (Day 35, Ep 13)
Rick found his third idol at camp on Day 35. He was unable to play it as he was eliminated in the fire-making challenge at Final 4 on Day 38, losing to Chris Underwood. Rick holds the record for most Hidden Immunity Idols possessed in a single season with four total (one received upon return, three found at camp). He was voted out holding this idol.

Chris received a two-half Hidden Immunity Idol upon returning from the Edge of Extinction on Day 35. He was required to give one half to another player before it could function. Chris gave his half to Rick Devens, whom he had the best relationship with among remaining players. After recombining with Rick, Chris played the full idol on himself at the Day 36 tribal council (Episode 14), negating 3 votes against him. Lauren O'Connell was voted out. Chris then won the season by defeating Gavin Whitson and Julie Rosenberg 9-4-0 at Final Tribal Council.
